The most beautiful show on tv is back today with hopefully less animations, more beautiful models, and drama. Don't be expecting to see familiar faces ANTM has many surprises up their sleeves. Perez Hilton will be making a guest appearance as promised by Tyra herself when she asked him to stop talking about young Hollywood actress or celeb's kids for a whole month! Perez Hilton agreed only if she would have him appear on ANTM. And ta da promises were met! But guess who won't be judge at panel anymore? Ms. Jay Alexander!
Don't worry his replacement is someone you need to know about if you haven't already. Can you guess who his fierceness is? None other than the editor-at-large for Vogue USA magazine, Andre Leon Talley! The excitement of having him there is uncontrollable and we can just imagine his critiquing this is has got to be the best move ANTM has ever made. So what happens to Ms. Jay you ask? Well here's the whole 4-1-uno, apparently Ms. Jay told George Lopez on the Lopez Tonight show on Monday that he was always complaining how the models never did certain things.
What are those things? You'll have to tune in. But he said he got tired of complaining and decided to serve as a mentor this time around. Ultimately, this was his decision and idea but don't think he won't be there all the time because he will be there all episodes and during casting. We're wondering if they kept Paulina Porizkova since they're always changing the 4th judge. We're hopping Andre runs the idea by Anna Wintour and have her as a guest. And finally yes, those are the official conestants but we're not telling you their names...just yet. Make sure you don't miss the premeire of ANTM Cycle 14 tonight on the CW at 8/7central.
Maybe around three decades ago this portrait would have been believable, but the harsh reality fact is that Anna Wintour does not look like that anymore.
Even though plastic surgery and face lifts do somewhat miracles -to some people anyway- this portrait is way too far-fetched from her 60 years; Alex Katz was extremely modest when painting Anna. Though he did capture the signature bob and blank, brutal stare that only some get to witness when she's not wearing her sunglasses. And where are those signature sunglasses that should have replaced her eyes in this portrait? Alex Katz apparently noticed Wintour's "lovely eyes" after watching the documentary The September Issue and asked her to pose without them.
So what did Anna think about the final product since last posing in late 2009 that was recently released? "I was pleased to see that he used a lot of colour, which I adore," she said. In other words she was not content, but the 82-year-old artist captured Anna in her true essence, someone who hides behind her sunglasses. That's her security blanket. Even the toughest editor in the entire fashion world carries one, but in reality she is someone who's a great and loving, happy person. Someone bright and someone whose been through so much, but that never lets anything get her down. She in her own way brightens her path and thus touches many hearts.
The queen of beauty guru's on Youtube, Michelle Phan, was featured in Vogue's The Power of Fashion March issue under an article titled Logged On.Editor Meredith Melling Burke had Vogue's top picks for fashion bloggers.
